Store is closing mid April as we prepare for planting. Early and mid season garlic have sold out. Limited stocks of good quality Creoles are still available.
Our garlic is grown in a pristine valley of the Victorian Alpine Region.
We grow Roy's Purple Garlic, an heirloom turban garlic, which
has been grown in Australia for over 50 years. We also grow other varieties of garlic, such as creoles and marbled purple stripe. We sourced our seed stock from innovative Australian garlic seed producers who practise organic farming methods.
We grow and cure our garlic without chemical fertilisers or pesticides. We use seaweed, organic fertilisers and natural cow manure.
Imported garlic is fumigated with chemicals and refrigerated, resulting in loss of flavour and viability. When you buy garlic grown locally, direct from farm, you know it will deliver the long list of health benefits and flavour you seek in your cooking.
Pure natural rain water is used to grow our garlic.
No creek or river irrigation used. Minimal environmental impact.
Our garlic keeps well, has a fantastic earthy or nutty flavour, baked, stir fried or
roasted - as reported by many who have tasted it. It enhances flavour and adds depth to sauces, stews, curries and soups.
We've tasted each variety before deciding which variety to plant. The ones for sale are those that consistently grow well and pass the flavour test !
